Meredith & Michael

met in Los Angeles on a warm Fall evening in 2017 after finding each other and chatting on Bumble. Despite a five star review on Yelp, the Hollywood restaurant Michael picked for the date was closed (the doors chained shut) due to a health code violation. However, things could only go up from there! The two of them walked to another nearby spot, watched game two of the World Series, and shared french fries. Meredith may have done most of the talking at first, but it was clear to both of them that they wanted to see each other again… the next evening. Their second date, twenty-four hours later, was to see Bladerunner 2049 at a vintage movie theater. While Mike enjoyed the movie, Meredith devoted her attention to holding his hand. Meredith and Mike’s early-discovered mutual love of film, television, and sports has been a constant in their relationship.

They adopted their dog, David, in October of 2019, who, despite his skepticism (read: hatred) towards strangers and other dogs, has become a part of the family. The two have fallen more in love each day despite tribulations like the passing of beloved parents, health scares, a global pandemic, career changes, a cross-country move, and the aforementioned demon dog.

In June 2023 on a trip to Los Angeles, where the couple’s story began, the two went out for a romantic dinner and returned to a friend’s house to find it covered in candles, rose petals, and fairy lights. Mike got down on one knee and asked Meredith to marry him while a violinist played their song ((They Long to Be) Close to You by Carpenters). The pair celebrated with close friends and still recall this particular weekend as their favorite up until this point.

After enjoying post-engagement bliss for a few months, the two decided to fulfill their dream of tying the knot in Meredith’s favorite place on earth, Ireland. Meredith and Mike are overjoyed to invite their friends and family to witness the culmination of their love in their upcoming marriage!
